What Is Foot Zoning?

Foot Zoning is an exciting modality that recognizes the ability your amazing body has to heal itself! In a foot zone we simply trigger the signals in your feet to help your body remember its innate “gift to heal”. This is done by working with energy pathways in the feet which allow your body to recognize and connect to the Perfect Blueprint that is inherent inside of you!

Foot Zone Professionals use specific techniques to trigger signals in your feet that correspond to all the different parts of your body. We follow a detailed map in each session to reach every signal in your body and do this in a specific order to get the most benefit from every foot zone. This is an amazing holistic approach to health that recognizes that your body’s parts, organs, and systems work together and function as a whole. When all of your systems are communicating efficiently with one another you have the best chance of enjoying good health!

The benefits of receiving foot zones are AMAZING! Regular tune-ups not only aid you in experiencing physical health, but also release emotional disturbances, and bring clarity to your mind and spirit. You are much more than just a physical being. In foot zoning we can access and gain information relating to your physical, emotional, mental, and energetic bodies and bring them into balance.

History of Foot Zoning

The signal system of the feet has always been with man. Evidence that dates back thousands of years has been found in China, India, Egypt and other civilization showing the practice of using the feet for healing purposes.

In the twentieth century, Foot Zoning received credibility and popularity after 3 doctors published information relating to Foot Zoning and its principles. Dr. William Fitzgerald, an ENT, discovered ten areas of the body and the various ways they were related to the hands and feet. He found that by applying the right amount of pressure in precise locations he was able to relieve areas of pain throughout the body. In 1916, Dr. Browers published Dr. Fitzgerald’s findings and officially referred to the areas of the body as “zones”. Dr. Charles Ersdal was cured from paralysis by reflexology (a form of zoning), but noticed varying results in others. He spent over 26 years researching Foot Zoning and its principles, methods, and results. Dr. Ersdal is credited with extensively charting the foot zones and their corresponding trigger points. He is also credited with creating the basic standardized methods used today. Certified Foot Zone Professionals are available all over the world and Foot Zoning has developed into a highly respected alternative therapy.

How to Prepare for a Foot Zone

Do your research to find a good foot zone professional. Ask for recommendations from others who have had a good experience with theirs. A good foot zone professional has worked hard to learn and understand the zone to be able to help you receive the most benefit from your foot zone session. It is important that these treatments be administered by a certified foot zone professional to experience the full physical, mental, and emotional benefits.

A foot zone session usually takes place while sitting in a comfortable chair and typically takes anywhere from about forty-five minutes to an hour and a half depending on your current state of health. Multiple and consistent sessions are recommended in the beginning to reestablish the body’s restorative process. After this, you will be able to work with your professional to determine a schedule based on your individual needs and overall health.

It is important to make sure you are well hydrated before you get your feet zoned because your energy systems works through a communication system highly reliant on water. Also, make sure that you have eaten something healthy because your body will need energy to heal.

And of course, come with clean feet!

Take a step forward, and get a foot zone today or even better learn how to do this yourself and enjoy the benefits of giving and receiving regular foot zones for the rest of your life
